Tittikaka Is Back

Hey internet. How are you? Yes I know I'm one Lazy SOB, hoping that would change.

I know it's been awhile since my last entry into this blog. It stopped silent last Christmas, and have been meaning for a re-boot, however, I just kept putting it off.

On a rather sad note, one of my most dearly loved friends, George Refsum, died in June. This has affected my life and creativity somewhat drastically. I am still thinking of him often, and I will never forget him. I drew this for his family, and in his honour, it was the very least i could do.

Despite this terrible news,  I did meet the love of my life around the same time, so it's been a summer of reflection with many moments of pure bliss and not just agony.

From the Dutch to the Deutsch

I waved goodbye to Utrecht, the Netherlands, due to occupational
complication and have since moved onward to Mannheim, Germany in pursuit of new projects. It is the street art capital of Germany, so I have been told. It's very industrial here with factories and too many cars, and lots of really cool graffiti everywhere, giving the city a real 'London' vibe. Oh and I live next to this autobahn, oh the joy.

Dreaming of a Green Christmas

A Christmas card for a solar panel company. Bring Santa back to his original colour - Green

Tis the Spirit of the Season

You know, not all of us like Christmas.
Notably the ones that have to pull all their weight for it.

the Restrictive Christmas Card

Hoe does one connect the world of Law, Lawyers and Law firms with Christmas? Does a person even have to? Well, you do if they commission a Christmas Card.

Here's what i eventually came up with...

Lady Justice leading the way. i.e. Divine wisdom and truth leading the Wise men. Justice (God) must help guide mankind to truth, knowledge and understanding (Jesus).

I really wish Justice would get off her lazy ass and come and guide Mankind once more.

Closed Circuit Nation

One of the most unnerving things about walking anywhere in the United Kingdom, is the fact that no matter where you go: YOU ARE BEING WATCHED.

I find this amusing, as the UK has more CCTV Cameras anywhere else in the world! (and that includes the United States!)

It is also particularey disturbing that the term, 'Big Brother is watching you' from the book '1984' was written by a BRITISH person called George Orwell. In fact, oppressive police states are referred to as 'Orwellian'.

Thankfully, now I live in the Netherlands, and I only tend to see these CCTV cameras at places I would expect to; at Banks, train stations, and general retail shops...in fact the only CCTV that come to mind is the one that is at my local Coffeeshop Zanzi, (and even then the sign for it is still bigger than the camera!)

T-shirt designs, defined by the Idea of Celebrity

http://www.reggielondon.co.uk/

Reggie's T-shirts should be out within a few months hopefully, so spread the word!
This product is mainly to be sold through network sharing!
Thats right its for all you people on BookFace and SpaceMy!
So, if alot of you like the designs and want to walk around with them on your torso, I could earn some sort of living, and finally buy more things I need to create more awesome art for you all...
You see its a Win-win for everybody involved.
Except maybe famous people themselves: the theme is an amused look into the world of the celebrity!
We had a tight flexible brief with tight colour pallet. 5 of us 'fellow chosen designers' worked intensively for a week producing various designs and most were not used.

Here are just a few. I have posted the first two images in the colours I would have personally chosen. I think the last image is © Reggie as it was the chosen one.

Apirations of Greatness

Britain's Got Talent it seems.

Tittikaka takes a trip to North Korea

Welcome to the most isolated country on earth.
A lonely country that has not changed much through the years...its main goal is still the idea of complete self reliance from the outside world...
We are greeted by the self proclaimed 'eternal president' Kim Il Sung, in the form of a 20 metre bronze statue, erected in 1972.
While traveling through the highways, one notices a lack of cars, busses and even bicycles.
You will also be hard pressed to find any people in the rural areas...
Much of the time the sky is a depressing overcast blanket, with melancholy shades of grey.
Every single personal decision is controlled by the Worker's Party of the D.P.R.K. (the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea).
The city-centre of Pyongyang, the countries only capital city is amass with Brutalist concrete structures in various states of disrepair. One of the countries main natural resources is concrete...and here its used for everything. A true socialist paradise, there is no working electricity and they suffer from constant power shortages.
In the distance we can see the disturbingly tall and unfinished brutalist pyramid that resembles something some super villain might build if he only had limited materials and labour.
This evil monstrosity is called the Ryugyong Hotel, and it is a major embarrassment even for North Koreans who air brush it from photographs, and just plain ignore it when giving tours of Pyongyang.
This last image represents something positive to me at least. The people of North Korea seem so desperate to be reunited with the South. Even if this is not in the way they expect it to be with the DPRK, or through complete self reliance. I am sure once they are together they will be finally grateful and happy, even if it's without the guidance of their beloved Worker's Party and Dear Leader Kim Jong Ill.

Some of the Artwork displayed is available to buy from ArtImport, who specialises in Communist Propaganda posters and artwork. There are alot of very cool and striking images available here and is well worth a look see.

You can also book your own 'Holiday' to Northern Korea, full of fun sight seeing, with a healthy dose of propaganda, through the DPNK's very own website. Its a very interesting read, in itself...
